Also the assumption that it was caused by two really big nukes over specific areas of Mars' northern hemisphere, the same effect could have been caused by multiple small airbursts like a MIRV bombardment in a precise pattern to sterilize those specific areas. Also using neutron bombs as opposed to conventional nukes potentially changes the interpretation as well. This fits well with the idea that an advanced precivilization in our solar system fell in some kind of war or conflict near the end of the Younger Dryas about 12,500 years ago.
