Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using LightNet (“the Platform”), operated by Wisdom Age Metaverse, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization doing business as LightNet, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. About LightNet

LightNet is a consciousness research data platform. Participants log experiments across Curiosity Labs, and the Platform aggregates data into live visualizations called Leap Maps. LightNet is operated as a nonprofit research initiative.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You may register using email and password, a magic link, or a third-party provider (Google or Facebook). You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate and complete registration information
• Maintaining the security of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fabricated experiment data
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users of the Platform
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform or other users' accounts
• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Platform, including introducing malware or engaging in denial-of-service attacks
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Platform without prior written consent

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Research Data & Content

By submitting experiment logs and research data to the Platform, you grant Wisdom Age Metaverse a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, aggregate, and publish your data in anonymized, aggregate form for research and educational purposes.

You retain ownership of your individual submissions. Your personal experiment data will not be shared in individually identifiable form without your explicit consent.

Any content you upload (including profile images, text, and media) must not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.

6. Donations & Payments

LightNet is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Subscriptions and payments are processed through Stripe. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

Refund requests for subscriptions may be submitted by contacting us. Donations are generally non-refundable.

7. Intellectual Property

The Platform, its design, logos, and original content are the property of Wisdom Age Metaverse and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Platform without our prior written consent.

8. Third-Party Services

The Platform integrates with third-party services including Google, Facebook, Stripe, and others. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Research data and visualizations are provided for informational and educational purposes only and should not be construed as scientific conclusions or professional advice.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wisdom Age Metaverse and its directors, officers, volunteers, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases, but these Terms will continue to apply to any prior use.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
